Why should we take the career option as “Commerce” in 2022?

The commerce course in India opens a lot of options for career opportunities in India for commerce students. What is e-commerce?

There is a lot of scope for commerce students in India in 2022. E-commerce means buying, selling, marketing, servicing delivery and payment of products, services and information over the internet and other networks.

 It enables the trading of goods, money and information electronically from computer to computer. Businesses are done electronically and there is no longer a need for physical currency or goods to conduct business. 

Scope of e-commerce in India:-

LThe potential for e-commerce development is enormous in India. Nowadays one can buy any products online through e-commerce sites like Amazon, Flipkart, and Zamoto. In the e-commerce era in India, the consumer can get gym equipment for food items and laptops that are available online.

According to a survey by NASSCOM in 2019, India produces 15lakh engineering graduates every year, but only 2.5 lakh of them succeed in getting a job in core engineering industry. In another aspiring the committee said that, 80% of Indian engineers are not fit for the job.

1. Chartered Accountancy:- 

CA (Charted Accountant) is one of the most respectful and challenging careers at commerce.CA and is a good option for higher education in India. Charted accountancy was established in 1854 in Britain. It is the core activity of the business.

 

In India, the CA course is conducted by the ICAI (Indian Chartered Accountants Institute).The students who have cleared their +2 examination can go for the foundation level test conducted by ICAI.

 

1. Common Proficiency Test (CPT); – CPT is the entry-level or foundation test for the Charted Accountancy course. You can apply for CPT after completion of the Class 10 Board examination.

 

2. Integrated Professional Competence course (IPCC):-For the IPCC or the Intermediate level test of the CA exam, there is a total of 7 subjects which are divided into two groups. Group 1 is (4subjects).Group 2(3 subjects). You are required to score at least 40 marks in each subject.

 

3. Final Course (FC):-the final level of the CA exam consists of 2 groups with 8 papers to be cleared. Candidates who clear both groups of the CA Intermediate course (IPCC) are given 2.5 years minimum of practical training and are required to complete.

AICITSS (Advanced Integrated Course on
Information Technology and Soft Skills) before registering for the CA
final exam, the candidate needs to clear that both groups are at the
Intermediate level.

 Job Salary:- The Charted Accountant’s salary for an International Posting
is between Rs9-18 Lakh pa. and the public sector could pay Rs. 10-20 Lakh.
Indian Business giants offer between Rs.6-9 Lakh per annum.

2. Company Secretary:-

The company secretary (CS) is one of the Principal Posts in a company. A citified Company Secretary handles the legal aspects of a business enterprise. A commerce student can join in CS after completion of +2.

 

CS is responsible for maintaining and auditing the company’s tax returns, keeping records, and advising the board of directors regarding the financial health of the company.

 

The Institute of Company Secretary (ICSI) is constituted in 1980 and conducted by CS., which is controlled by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the Government of India.

 

Students, who have completed 10+ 2commerce, are eligible to pursue this course. The Company Secretary’s course duration can go 3 to 5 years depending on the time taken by the students to clear their exams. The first step is the CSEET exam which will be conducted four times a year.

CS Executive and CS Professionals exams were conducted twice a year in June & December. Since the decades of globalization, which began in1991, both the Indian economy and corporate sector had major impacts on job growth in the legal, finance, accounting, secretarial and administrative sectors.

 

Job & salary:-If the candidate completes the CS with a Law degree course, he can get a job in central government and state government as the Company secretary.

 

Qualified CS get jobs in Private, Public and foreign companies. There are some of the big organizations that use CS in BPO Airport Authority of India, Bharat earthmovers, ONGC, BHEL, SAIL, PSU& Stock exchanges.

3. Cost Accountant:-

A career as a Cost Accountant is expected to witness a massive rise between 2018-2028. According to the IBEF, the job opportunity as a Cost Accountant will grow by 6% producing 90,000 jobs in India. A commerce student can join in CMA after completion+2 in India.

 They have a starting salary that is offered to Cost Accountants all across the globe amount is 40Lacs.There are 3 levels of this course: CMA Foundation, CMA Intermediate, and CMA Finals. The duration of this course is 8 months to 18 months.

 

CMA is the most commonly chosen course to become a cost accountant. It has been established that a Cost Accountant certified candidate gets 30% more salary than a non Accountant certified candidate.

There are four ways to become a Financial Analyst in India.

 1. After completion of +2 in commerce, then complete B.com-Finance and further proceed to Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

 

2. After completion of +2 commerce, then complete BBA-Finance. Further, proceed to Charted Financial Analyst (CFA).

 

3. After the completion of +2commerce, then complete BBA-Finance. Further, proceed to MBA-Finance.
